About Me: Female, 35, Streamwood, IL, member since Aug 2007
I'm BurbanChick, also known as Shelby. I'm an MRI Technologist! I love the work that I do and the people I come in contact with. I try to make the normally traumatic experience as easy as possibe, usually I succeed!
I found out my fiance had MS accidentally! We got a new MR unit at my hospital and I volunteered BurbanDude as a test patient. I was sure surprised to see what I saw. "A textbook case of MS" as stated by his Neuro! Since that day he has started treatment with Avonex, we got married in Maui 2 months after that, several months later, defeated the odds and are now expecting a baby girl New Years Day. A world wind of a year for the Burban Family!
I stumbled upon this forum one day and have found it to be priceless and the people who frequent it are just amazing!
Won't be long before the Burban baby is born. It seems like only yesterday you told us you were pregnant. I know tha t you are probably ready to get it all over with though, so you can hold your precious one in your arms. Hope the baby is actually born on New Year's and is the first baby born in the town where you live. Then you and the baby will probably make the front page of the local newspaper. That would be cool. Many hugs to you and Burbandude and of course, little one. Have a great Thanksgiving you two. Big Hugs, Heather
Shelby..I have an MRI coming up...could I travel out to IL and have you be my tech? The one where I have to go for my upteenth MRI, is so cranky. Especially the guy that gives the contrast dye. He doesn't care whether the alcohol prep is even dry before he jabs that needle in. I tried to tell him that the alcohol makes it more painful then it has to be. Most medical professionals are like that as a matter of fact. How would they like rubbing alcohol pumped into their veins? Gessshhh. Continued in the next post...
Just a quick note to say hi! Hi Chicky, sorry I was not able to respond to your post yet - just wanted to say hello and hope you and dude can make some decisions you are both comfortable with...ttys - Shell
