I was treated for breast cancer in 2006, having several surgeries, and four rounds of chemotherapy. I had a mastectomy and now have a saline implant in one breast.
Eight years ago I went through a clinical depression, and was on anti-depressants for about 2 years. At that time I first experienced internal vibrations, sort of like a sudden motor turning on inside of me, but they were brief and only for a few episodes in the morning. My doctor didn't seem concerned about it and I chalked it up to the meds. Over the next several years the shakiness internally came and went, but wasn't a big problem. This past March it came out of the blue as intense early morning internal shakes that lasted longer than they used to.
Within a week of it's beginning again this Spring, the internal shakes started to come and go throughout the whole day! Sometimes they are in my legs, sometimes in the upper torso, sometimes even in my lower lip. This is when I started looking online and found a few sites where others with these symptoms were sharing their stories. However I haven't found anything newer than 2004. Where have these folks gone and what has happened to the chat area?
My doctors (GP, Oncologist and GYN) all just shake their heads and have no answers for me. They don't seem to take me very seriously. One thought it was stress and put me on Xanax. I don't think it is stress. I have stress in my life as anyone does, but I exercise regularly, eat very well, and do many things to keep myself mentally healthy. The Xanax helps the symptoms a little, but it just returns when the Xanax wears off. It also makes me sleepy so I don't want to take it every day.
I am post-menopausal, and since having had Chemo, and been on Arimidex for 8 months, my thought processes are also very compromised. I feel "fuzzy" headed much of the time, and have trouble learning new things at work, or making decisions in my every day life. I am currently off the Arimidex because of progressive joint pain, and waiting to decide with the doctor where to proceed with that. I thought the internal vibrations had let up since being off the Arimidex, but they are now back in force after 5 weeks off the drug.
I am wondering if it is environmental, connected with something in my house? I was away for a couple of weeks and they seemed to let up a lot. Now since I am back home they have picked up again as intensely as before. I also have an electrical power transformer mounted on a pole right in front of my house, about 30 feet from my bedroom windows. I have always wondered if this contributed to my breast cancer, or is somehow damaging my nervous system?
Can you give me any ideas of where to go with this? It is driving me crazy!
