Went to the OB/GYN, found I had a very prominent cervical lesion and endometrium is a little thicker than normal. Had pap/ biopsies and labs. Everything came back negative - labs showed that I am going through menopause (yipee, but I'll take that over cancer) and I had a bacterial infection. I receieved one of my nursing journals just the other day that showed a study where women who were overweight (more than 30% over BMI) are more likely to suffer from prolonged/heavy menstration during menopause. I was always aware of not having periods any longer and LOVE that part of it, but never knew it could cause heavy/longer periods also - learn something new everyday!
Hope that all is going well with your plight - have you been able to find out what is causing your symptoms yet?
