About Me: Female, Nashville, TN, member since Nov 2007
I was dx with Stage IIc, Clear Cell ovarian cancer in Oct. 07. After my hysterectomy, I had six rounds of carbo/taxol. Two months after completing that chemo, a new tumor was found. My ONC did surgery to remove the tumor in Sept. 08. I ended up spending 35 days in the
[More] hospital with various complications including infections and a blockage. The blockage required more surgery. The recouperation from this surgery was very difficult. For a few weeks, I had sporadic blockages which caused spasmodic pains that were intolerable IMO.
I recently reread all the reports my doctor has written concerning my surgeries, etc... My current ONC considers me "unstaged" because no lymph nodes were biopsied during my hysterectomy. I've also noticed that not many people are diagnosed Stage II. I will always wonder what my true Stage should be.
In Dec. 08, I began six rounds of Doxil. It is Jan. 09, and after two treatments I am having very few side effects other than weakness. Updates to follow as they occur.
I am trying to find more about Patupilone. I've read they use it for Multiple Myeloma, which is my husband's diagnosis since 2005.
After completing the Doxil treatments my CT Scan was "clear." and my CA125 was 18.8 which is within the 35 range for the lab that is used. Doxil was tough, buy doable. I had an easy time until after the fourth treatment. Then, I had every side effect noted for Doxil. I will see my ONC on May 12 and will find out what's next.
Sorry to hear you've been dealing with nasuea, but I'm glad to see you posting. I hope you're able to find some relief. I assume you're still in treatment. I'm sure you're worn out a lot of the time, but I do hope you're making some progress and will feel better by the time the warmer days get here. Take care! Gail
You're in my thoughts all the time, but especially today. I have been thinking of you so much lately so wanted to send a note and see how you are doing and also how your husband is doing? Are you getting the snow too? We are in the 30's which is cold to us LOL but since I am housebound, it doesn't matter much! I hope to hear that you are doing well,
