Im thinking about having an EP study and possible ablation from Dr. Timothy Doyle in Houston, TX. How can I find out if he is good? Do you know if he is good? Please Help. My original poster name was "cookienkikin"
Thank you for everything! Youjust being there for me is great. Tonight I am in a-fib and have been for about 2 hrs. It is 2:30am here and I wanted to call you so bad just to get support. I know that you are sleeping so I don't want to do that. I will try to talk to you tomorrow. Not sure if I will go to work today. Love ya
Thank you for optimism. I told a friend I was considering ablation and wanted to hear of the supposed 90% success rate and was googling to find stories but instead found multiple ablations, continuing need for medication, increased heart symptoms and decreased quality of life. My fiend suggested stop googling! And it is true that if all goes well, people are much less inclined to report it or read the medhelp forum (although it's swell to help each other out). I'm traveling to see a good cardiologist and will listen to what he says, and come with questions I continue to have, and take it from there. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for your response. I have been babysitting and wasn't able to log in. I'm happy you are doing okay. I'm happy to hear of your successful ablation. I talked with my family physician and she's had good results with the 10 or so patients she knows who underwent the procedure. Still, I'm feeling more comfortable with the devil I know, so to speak, than that I don't. I'm going for a consultation in a couple weeks, which will give me more information, and can still make my decision afterward. Ablation could be a great thing--I guess that's what I'd be betting on!. Take care.
