I have been on 40mg of Cymbalta for more than 5 years now and I take it for chronic pain, and it works wonderfully. Without it, I can hardly get out of bed due to severe chronic pain. I have LUPUS and Fibromyalgia. The side afects that I have experienced on Cymbalta include constipation and sweating. Sometimes the sweating on my face and neck can be pretty bad, 9even in mid winter!) but it's not as bad as the pain without the Cymbalta. One good thing about Cymbalta is that it is one of the few anti-depressants wich does not cause weight gain, which is great! I hope it helps your daughter.
Hi there,
I'm interested to know what the outcome was with your poor daughter...I hope all is well.
I've had similar symptoms to your daughter when coming off YAZ.
I am a 30 yo mother, was perfectly healthy and when I came off the YAZ before christmas last yr, instantly everything went wrong. I too had extremely low vitamin D, thyroid blood tests were 'normal' but it was not a very extensive test. Chest pain, weight loss (44kg), hair loss, lethargy, dizzyness, racing heart beat, pressure in the head. I'm being told the pressure in my head is sinuses and am currently being treated for hypertension to slow my heart beat down.
If you have the time, I would LOVE to hear your update.
All the best, Nina.

Say "Happy Birthday" to yor daughter for me. 18 is a pivotal point in ones' life, with so many decisions to make and being caught somwhere in the middle of all that's happening around you. It's nice that she has a support system in place and knows who she can turn to if she needs anything. I'm glad to hear she seems to be doing better and hope her progress continues.

Namaste,
How long has your daughter been on Cymbalta now? If it's been 4-6 weeks, you should be seeing some positive signs by now. Hope it works for her, rather than going through the misery of trying several different medications or combinations thereof. Forgive my delay in responding, I was in one of my isolation modes.
