About Me: Male, 68, Fresno, CA, member since Sep 2012
I retired at the end of 2011 after almost 30 years doing anesthesia as a nurse anesthetist. I got my training in the Army, then retired from the Army in 1994. One of those needle sticks along the way got me a case of hep C way back when it was called nonA-nonB and t
[More]here was no treatment for it. In 2000 I began to get terrible hives attributed to my hepC. I went through a 7 month series of interferon/ribavirin, cleared and relapsed. Then I went through 48 wks of peginterferon/ribavirin and cleared then relapsed. This wasn't ideal, but brought my liver biopsy to completely normal. I'm symptomatic now with increased liver enzymes, right upper quadrant pressure/discomfort, rashes and itching and am going to go for another series of treatment. HepC will be my life for the next year. I've made pottery for most of the last thirty years and hope to continue doing that. I'm glad I found this website. I know I'll need the support. This is not my first rodeo, but I'm not as young as I once was.
Sending you luck, prayers, love, good juju, and anything else that may help Garry! Remember the head trips that come along with it and I found that if I keep my mouth shut and then sleep on it, the next morning seem sooo different and I am glad I didn't say anything and don't have to go back and make amends!!! Peace Out, Chris
