About Me: Female, 32, Harrisburg, PA, member since Jan 2008
i'm a 26 year old female trying to get my degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. i have been having what seems to be unrelated medical issues all of my life. they have just gotten worse in the past 2 years. i've been diagnosed with , cardiomyopathy and tachycard
[More]ia, fibromyalgia, ADHD, a mood disorder, a sleep disorder, psoriasis, and hypothyroidism. i had to quit school for the semester due to the fact i sleep 15-24 hours at a time, and can not make myself wake up, and when i wake up and sleep less than than the 15 hours, i felt like i haven't slept at all. i've been to almost every specialist, and they're dealing with each symptom individualy, and not trying to put them together to come to some kind of diagnosis, and it's affected my life severely... please help!
I had to become my own doctor and that's how I found that all of my medical issues sprung from a rare condition called adult growth hormone deficiency, I asked the doctor to test for it and with much arguing he finally decided to make me happy and do it and then he repeated it 2 times after it came back positive , it doesn't sound like much but it kills left untreated for years like me, read up on it and I hope it helps.
Hi Becca - I'm in the northern area. I travel to New Jersey or the Lehigh Valley for my doctors. I struggled like you for my diagnosis and it got to the point of them all writing me off as depressed, but I remained my own advocate because I went downhill so fast and felt like an 80 yr old just like you did.Depression was there but it was all situational. So keep pressing for an answer and hang in there. You know your body and you are your best advocate.
