C4-7 disk replacement and fusion . Feb 2010, accident July 2009. I would write what is going on with me but you already have and even being this computer is painfull . I like you need answers. So i will share my findings and you share yours. i am only 46 and have a wonderful family i would like to enjoy but am lock in this house and am in to much pain to enjoy. pain meds are not a naswer for me. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I had the surgery 9 years ago and the pain only continues and gets worse. I think the discs above and below the steel cage are now shot. The surgeon warned me that would happen. I too have the crackling in my neck all the time. I have named it the Rice Krispie Syndrome. It is soooo annoying and painful. The back of my head always hurts and most days it's painful to turn or move my head. Of course I have the constant pain between my shoulder blades, in my shoulders and neck and down my arm that is common with our problem. I finally found a Chiropractor that is pretty good at snapping my neck but it doesn't help for long. I can't find a solution or any long term help either. Cymbalta medication does help some though.
