About Me: Female, 58, Selinsgrove, PA, member since Feb 2008
January 2011............I am a wife and the mother of two sons. They are in their 20's and don't live at home anymore. My house is very quiet. I tend to isolate. I have chronic back pain and Fibromyalgia.
[More] I'm revising my "about me" page after a year of not being on this site and after reading what I had I am able to make some positive changes to that. Everything is the same as far as what I wrote in the beginning of the paragraph and I still isolate because I don't feel good most of the time. The things that changed for me are, I don't get depressed anymore, I keep myself busy talking with friends on facebook, and looking things up that interest me, I like to read (hard to stay awake, on pain meds), and my dogs are like my kids, they keep me from getting depressed. They force me to get out of bed in the morning, I have to take them out, feed them, and play with them. I also take them to the dog park when it's nice and that gets me out and talking with other people. Also, since then I have reconnected with some of my old friends from school, my one good friend we call each other BFF's just to be funny, we went on vacation together, and a Christmas shopping trip. I went to a few Holiday partys this year and surprised some old friends. I'm forcing myself to get out and live life. I noticed a pattern that I'm sure is pretty common with most women that suffer from chronic pain and fibro., that winter is a really bad time for me, I don't get depressed because I do have friends I can reach out to, but I feel a lot more pain. It gets so bad lately (worse then last year) my strong meds don't even kill the pain sometimes and I certainly don't want to take more then what I do already.
I'm ready for spring! I'm also in the process of loosing weight and eating healthy foods that are supposed to be healing for fibro.reading a book called "FOOD THAT HELPS WIN THE BATTLE AGAINST FIBROMYALGIA" I'm also doing the Isagenix program. It's very healthy and healing with lots of vitamins and minerals, plus more. So I can't wait for spring so I can enjoy the sunshine and my new found health! That's a promise! I will keep everyone posted with pictures and updates. Wish me luck and support! Please!
