Just a quick note to say hi!
Dear Songster,
Be careful with the doctor thinking that maybe you don't have schizophrenia. I heard that I might not need medication years ago, because (just like you) I was "doing so well." Big mistake!
I have been able to lead a normal life with medication, but I was ill for six months after trying to get off medication.
I am coping with the dizziness. It is a small price to pay for a healthy psyche!
Best wishes!

Thanks for replying. This time I have been away from the Internet. I found that the fish oil increased dizziness in me, and I stopped it; I also stopped the Vitamin E, as I was not sure if this was increasing the balance problem as well. I do know that Navane causes a balance disorder, and I have been on it to very good effect since 1982. I do take a multi-Vitamin B capsule called "Stresstabs," and my reading of the Internet suggests that this may be enormously helpful over the long haul in preventing tardive dyskinesia. I have taken one Stresstab a day for all of my adult life. I have taken anti-psychotic medication since 1972, and thus far I just have a slight quivering of the tongue when I stick it out in front of the mirror. Thanks!

I read with interest your statement that you were diagnosed with TD many years ago, but no one would know it, because the movements are almost completely controlled by 4,000 mg. of fish oil a day, plus Vitamin E (1200 mg. a day).
Would you share with us what else you might be taking by way of supplements--vitamins, minerals, and the like?
Many thanks.
