About Me: Male, 37, N. Las Vegas, NV, member since Mar 2008
My name is Dan, I am a 32 yr old straight male and I have had Mild Cerebral Palsy (Right Spastic Hemiplegia w/ Paralysis), Mild Epilepsy, Mild Scoliosis and ADHD since birth. I've also had Cryptorchidism (undescended Testicles) which was fixed at 2 yrs old with surgery
[More] and micropenis which was also fixed at 2 yrs old with hormone therapy (Testosterone).
I was born at 32 weeks because of abruptio placenta. Because of my lack of development, my lungs could not sustain me and I asphyxiated. That caused most of my health issues. Up until mid - late high school I practically lived out of doctors offices but eventually got tired of feeling like a ginuea pig and stopped going. I've have not been to a doctor since and take no med's for my ailments.
I'm here on MedHelp to learn more about my conditions (past and present) and to get an understanding of what problems I'll be facing due to my conditions as I grow older. I am also here to learn from others what it has been or is like for them living with the same conditions I as have had to learn to deal with my entire life.
Just a quick note to say hi! Hi, I read your posts on the pain mgt. board and just want to say I'm sorry you have to live with this. You are young to have so many problems. I know you said you don't go to doctors anymore, but maybe you should try. I have a 21 yr. old son who has ADHD and neck and shoulder pain and he has been helped a lot by a psychiatrist, believe it or not.
You don't have to take strong pain meds, there are other options. I don't know about the CP, but I know there are also medications for epilepsy that are effective.
