Just had a cyst removed from my gums
above my two front teeth. Non cancerous...the doctor said it was about the size of a quail egg. Went to an Ear Nose and Throat guy first. He wanted to perform a $1,000 MRI and THEN - MAYBE talk about the possibility of removing it. Decided to visit an ORAL SURGEON instead of having the MRI. 1 week later (this past Monday) he performed the surgery after only taking normal dental X-rays. He said the cyst WAS NOT dental related - not caused by an infection or problem with a tooth. It's out for official biopsy now but he says it looks like a fatty lump and totally benign. Good luck! Hope this helps! Before/after surgery photos are on my homepage. On Monday I'll add a photo of the cyst itself when I get back from his office for my follow-up visit.
