About Me: Male, 72, Woodhaven, NY, member since Apr 2008
I'm 64, diagnosed HCV+ with genotype 1b in February, 2008.
[More] in May, 2008, gave me a Metavir of A2/F1. A year and a half later, a Fibroscan gave me a Metavir equivalent of F3/F4. Either something's wrong with these tests, or I think I win the contest for the world's fastest progressor.
I'm a New Yorker, but I currently reside in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I belong to the Health Plan of the Italian Hospital here. They have a pretty good Hepatology Department.
Between tests at the hospital I go tango dancing. I'm told I do real argentine style tango, probably because I love tango music and have been listening to it for thirty years.
I was a documentary filmmaker and journalist until I retired four years ago. I still write articles now and then, mostly on third-world political economics. You can download one at http://www.iade.org.ar/uploads/c87bbfe5-4e61-efb5.pdf It's in Spanish, though.
I also do figure skating. I learned as an adult. It keeps me fit.
I'm gonna keep on dancing and skating as long as I can.
Two days left! Yay, way to go Mike, so glad for you! How long are you going to stick around New York? Until your 12 week eot viral load test? So your chest infection is gone? That is great! Well continue with your Tx regime for a while after Tx, it takes a while to recover. We are all doing great. I am feeling pretty good. Will let Liz know too.
Hi Mike! How are you doing? are you done with your Tx now? Still in New York? Have left a couple voice messages on your phone, and you haven't called back. Hope you are over your bronchitis or at least treating it now. Liz (Almostsixty) is also thinking about you too. So if you can, drop me a line!
