About Me: Female, 54, Sun City, CA, member since Feb 2013
I'm 54 years old, and a grandmother. I was very active up until 2008 when I began to have facial and head pain. It turned out that I had a large AVM in the left parietal portion of my brain. I had proton beam radiation and it was obliterated within two years. The pain n

[More]ever stopped and in fact progressed slowly from my head and face down the entire left side of my body. Although my entire body hurts all of the time, the right side is 2% and the left side carries 98% of the pain which from time to time is so excruciating that I cannot walk. I've had multiple MRI's, an EMG and a full spinal MRI. Even though a neurological head and neck specialist felt that I may have MS it has never been confirmed from tests. At times I wake in the morning and I feel as though a knife is being ran up the inside of my left leg bone and I simply cannot walk. My GP's view is that I have sypathetic pain syndrome due to the radiation on the left side of my brian. The neurologists did not concur with this, I gave up and stopped going to them a year and a half ago. I'm at my wits end. I live on pain meds, fentanyle, vicodin, gabapentin and xanex. I want to get well and I'm trying. I'm moderately walking and stretching daily but I have to say, it makes me very sore to the point I can't move at times. When I'm walking on the treadmill my legs itch and I feel like bees are stinging me. I love yoga, hiking, walking and any kind of fitness and spending time with my grandchildren, all of which has been thwarted by this. My doctor had me get some bloodwork done to look for inflammation, RA, lupus and so on. I'm waiting on a call back for the results. I deserately want my life back, it's being stolen by this pain. I am more than frustrated, I'm desperate.
