Hi. I have been coughing, vomiting, clearing my throat for a couple years now. About a year ago, I struggled so hard to breathe that I ended up hospitalized and diagnosed with asthma. I have been seeing a pulmonary doctor regularly who has had to frequently change my medications because I have not been stabilized. I never suffered from reflux, heart symptoms but research shows that one affects the other. I am currently taking otc reflux med in addition to prescribed asthma meds. I have noticed some improvement but this has not completely resolved the issue. I go back to the pulm. doc. next week. Let's see what changes she makes now.
Look up schatzki's ring. This could be what you all are experiencing. It is not often diagnosed in the US but can cause many problems. I found it while trying to learn why I can never burp. Hope it helps!
Hi I'm Angela! I'm having the exact same problem. Going on for 5 or 6 yrs. On & off. My doc. said it's acid reflex. I had no heart burning. After taking meds for acid reflex for 3yrs. Now he's saying I don't have acid reflex. I recently had 2 full physicals. He told me I was in good health, no respiratory problems. I'm going for a 2nd opinion asap. When I'm coughing and choking I feel so embarrass. At times i don't want to eat.
