About Me: Female, 41, Wilmington, NC, member since Apr 2013
I am a 39 year old mother of two boys. I am a wife and a daughter. I am also a sister and an all-time fabulous friend. This being said, I am a recovered drug addict as well. I have not used in 10 to almost 11 years now. I am also hep c positive, most likely because of m
[More]y past love for the needle and heroin. I found this out about 15 years ago (which basically means that I could have had hpv c for almost possibly 20 years) I was told by my best friend at the time that she had found out and we unfortunately used together basically everyday from the time I was 16 until I was maybe 20. I have just started tx I am in my 6th week now and still am waiting for more blood work to find out if I am just doing tx all for nothing. I am taking Ribavirin, Interferon injections and I have just started taking Victrelis 2 weeks ago. So this just has to work-the depression that these meds cause is so ridiculous. My Dr. finally put me on Remerol, an antidepressant and sleep aid. I am so happy that I started all of these meds cause I hope to be here when I have grandchildren...luckily I have zero liver damage. I hope that I find out more information about anyone who has been on this tx before. I would be very interested in somebody who has done this before and knows exactly what I am going through right now.
Hi, thanks for the invite. I have been away from this forum for quite some time. Taking a break after a long but unsuccessful TX. I'm waiting for better drugs because I can't take the currently available protease inhibitors. I am sure you'll find some of the great folks on this forum like I did. Best of luck! :-)
