I had a hysterectomy 10 yrs ago with a bladder sling. Beginning about 6 yrs ago began with incontinence. It got worse over time. For the last 2-3 yrs I had to wear a depends 24 hrs a day. I would leak from just walking. Miserable. Then it got worse. I began having bladd
[More]er infections frequently. I went to a urologist who tried to do a cystoscpoe in office but could not get catheter in. I had to have it a hospital under anthesia. He said my urether looked like a birds nest. THe sling had totally eroded into my urether. I saw a wonderful gynourologist at the Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville FLa. Dr. Anita Chen. She said I would have to have surgery to remove the mesh and repair my urether. She also said another surgery would have to be done to fix incontinence, She warned me that the mesh removal would be a complicated surgery. And it was. She had to pick out the mesh, as it had become embedded into the tissue, and also do a total repair of my urether, She comes very highly recommended by me. I am trying to find out if my sling is recalled by the fda, but don't know where to start to find out. any web sites for this? I tried the fda website but couldn't get any real info.
