Just a quick note to say hi!
for your ankle rash compilation:
I am fair-skinned
53and have gotten it since about 35
do not have vericose veins (some spider)
I am heavy, don't golf or walk/run regularly for lengths
I get this rash after a whole day of walking and standing - Disneyland, festivals and now the County Fair. It's usually warm, but once was November. I almost always wear long pants and frequently ankle socks, tho not this time. There may be something to suspicions of sodium - at these activities you are likely to eat "fair food" and I probably never drink enough water.
My rash is not swollen or itchy and is on it's fifth day almost gone.
Thanks for looking into this for all of us!

Hi - Went on a 9.5 hr hike yesterday, in Silverthorne, CO - hot, very dry. I am 37, very active (though biking mostly this summer, not hiking). Have no vericous (yikes - sp?) or spider veins. Live in CO (dry climate). After the hike and my shower, I noticed a red red rash, not bumpy on both inner ankles around my sock line. My ankles were also VERY swollen and still are today (the day after, though they have gone down a tiny bit). Found your site and thought I would give you my info. This is the first time this has happened to me (btw, I am a female, blond, not fair skinned though). I think I will go soak in cold water after reading your post and hope this goes away quick and doesn't happen again in two weeks when I climb Mt. Holy Cross. Oh and I do not have itching or pain....

I left a post on your "Golfer's Vasculitis" blog and wondered if you have any comments on it?
