About Me: Female, 57, Wickliffe, OH, member since Jul 2008
I'm a retired attorney (retired at 46 due to onset of brain condition as a result of contracting meningitis when I was a mere 13! - The "condition" has brought about dementia - under control with Aricept (R).) I still maintain a high IQ and as long as I take my medicati
[More]on have fairly strong verbal and written skills - but it was felt by my neurologist and psychiatrist who treats my sleep disorder - that I needed to be on Disability immediately since I shouldn't be representing clients just in case my thinking suddenly went "off" or I would be in court and get my words mixed up - like "Your honor, I object. My client is most certainly a liar" as opposed to ""Your honor, I object. My client is most certainly NOT a liar." One unhappy client - one lost license to practice...
So, as one door closed - at least part way - I'll explain below, another opened. All of a sudden I developed rather amazing art skills in every area EXCEPT DRAWING. So I have sculptures, jewelry, silk painting, etc. in local galleries - AND PEOPLE BUY THEM!!
But, I had to keep my hand in "law enforcement" of some type, so I began to be called upon by local and then federal authorities to help them solve closed murder cases.
I LOVE IT!! I get to use my police training skills (that was my B.A. degree and I taught at the Police Academy) and interact in the various departments with my "buddies" who have accepted my help with 99% enthusiasm. There's always that one officer who believes that since I don't wear a uniform, have a badge or carry a gun, I shouldn't be in the research room reviewing past police work-ups of cases. But, even some of them have come around. The Chiefs and city Mayors LOVE IT since I'm free, skilled volunteer help and just might solve a case that would made a constituent happy!
My best friend has been psychic since the age of 3 and I've used her to help solve 3 cases - and she's come through EVERY TIME! Now, they say if you hang around blatently psychic people long enough, their abilities rub off on you. Well, in my case, it has. So now, I'm considered a forensic evaluator (which I did before) and now a forensic psychic.
I LOVE volunteering my time to bring peace to a family. Just 3 weeks ago, I used my psychic intuition to help solve the murder of a much beloved local dentist that occurred 2 years ago - I was able to describe the method of the murder (which had been purposely leaked incorrectly to the press - the newspapers said shooting - I saw a man approach from the back and slit the doctor's throat - which was correct); the national origin of the suspect; and his exact age. The police already had a suspect in mind - when they consulted with me and I was able to back up these three key elements, they arrested him immediately. Don't get me wrong - I DON'T SOLVE CASES - I'm just one of many tools that law enforcement can use to verify their findings or help get them off on a "lead." But I'm so happy his children could finally rest knowing that the truth was coming out. AND we have one less murderer walking the streets.
I love gardening and am working on my Master Gardener Certificate - which I'll be working on 'till the day I die!! I love outside perennial gardening, outdoors container gardening and inside houseplants the best. I don't do well identifying trees and bushes - that's why I'll never pass the test!! Oh, and I LOVE to prune. I carry pruners in my purse whereever I go - now that's definitely an OCD thing, I'm sure, but it hurts no one.
And I don't have children, but LOVE tutoring (for free) K-3 in reading and have story hour 6 times a month in our apartment building lobby for our aged 3 through pre-k kids.
Oh, just one more thing. I'm called by those who know me - the "Stain Queen." If you have a stain - just give me the info and I can solve your problem (without ruining the fabric or carpet or wood or whatever) with about 90% success rate. I know it's the nuttiest "hobbies" out there, but as an artist, I've had to learn to get latext paint out of my jeans - and they say it can't be done...HA HA it sure can be... - chalk rubbed into carpetting to disappear, nail polish (an art material I use extensively) out of just about all surfaces - no one said I was a neat artist meaning "clean" - they say I'm a "neat" artist - meaning "cool!"
Well, that was certainly more than "a little about me" and must have bored you folks to death!
