About Me: Female, 60, Bonita Springs, FL, member since Jul 2008
I was diagnosed about a year ago and was told by the first doc to start treatment right away. he didn't do any further testing besides the blood work. This concerned me so I got a second and third opinion they said since I only had stage 2 inflammation and no fibrosis I
[More] didn't need tx now and could wait several years when there would be better treatment. (I was even told I could continue to drink in small amounts). I recently spoke to someone who is in end stage liver disease and she convinced me to seek another doc that would do treatment and who knew what testing I needed. I found one and he has started testing and told me I shouldn't be drinking any alcohol. I still have to get the clearance from the cardiologist than we will start treatment. I found so much negative information about tx that I have been very scared. Just recently I've begun to read information that tx can be tolerated and that it does work for many people. I am 1, not sure if it's a or b just can't remember, and my viral load in 1,220,000. Any positive input or advise would be greatly appreciated. My liver biopsy had me at level 2 inflammation with no fibrosis.
Welcome! Now please take a deep breath and go to the main page and look at the green box that says "post question", click on the box and post your question. Also, it's alot easier to get answers to your questions if you tell a little bit about yourself like your genotype, how long you've been on tx and then post your question. Another thing is, if you just post like one question at a time then the thread will take on a life of it's own and you can roll with it and ask more questions. The way you have posted your question ppl may overlook your need for help as you posted on a Milk Thistle thread. In other words you posted a question on someone else's question. good luck
Just a quick note to say hi!
Thanks for your note... I did not say anything to him because I was so shocked by what he said and he had just showed me my MRI that indicated I need cervical surgery to avoid paralysis. After it all sunk in after I left I was just so upset. Not only was it unprofessional.. he is an idiot for making a statement about the tx and SVR even if he does not know about it. He is a neuro surgeon. I am still trying to figure what to do.
Hi Ilene, I encourage you to post your question in the forum as I'm not really sure what it means. My knowledge of the different ways of measuring viral load is limited and I would hate to mislead you. There are some very savvy people in this forum and I'm sure someone will have an answer for you. This journey can be such a rollercoaster... All the best. Chiara
