ps. the DIEP was REALLY a long surgery (15 hours including the mastectomies). It would be shorter for a single sided reconstruction. This was followed by 2 days in intensive care on morphine, then into a regular room for 4 additional days and on Vicodin for several weeks. I was really sure that this was the right decision for me, but I want to make sure that anyone considering is aware of the facts.
I see in your profile that you are interested in DIEP, have you had this procedure already or are you gathering info on it? I did quite a lot of research and can point you to several websites that give Dr lists in your area. Let me know if I can help.
Medical bills...yes remember them not so fondly. Insurance didn't cover the stuff that my radiation oncologist wanted me to use and that totalled well over 1000. Plus my meds that year were over 100 a month (just for me alone). It gets expensive. How's the job hunting going?
Not a bad day, I think! Kiddos are keeping me awake (aggravating my insomnia) most nights, but got a fairly good night's sleep last night. Working, working, working..... You ok?
