About Me: Female, 55, ROCKFORD, IL, member since Aug 2013
I have a LOT of arthritic issues. I'm ok, God has blessed me, I'm still up and moving around on my own! Have an artificial r hip that works well. Been diagnosed with a lot of things regarding my bones! I'm getting ready to go round 2 w/Spinal injections.
[More] My REAL concerns are my Hep C. Personally, I think I got it in the 80's when I use to do iv drugs. There are 3 other possibilities-blood transfusions, at the ages of 2 in 1962. 17 in 1977 and 19 yrs. old in 1979. The IV drug use was in the late 80's-early 90's.Point being, who knows how long I've had it? This past winter I was told I'm at level/stage 3, out of 4. Never knew "levels" existed or those genotypes. Now, today the DR.'s office calls to tell me my ammonia levels are high and I need to get to my gastroenterologist.
Been reading and now I'm afraid. I want to make friends on here that KNOW and UNDERSTAND the itching, confusion, forgetfulness, fatigue and sleepiness. As well as the great days I have. I just need people to talk to.
I'm so glad you are getting more brain function back again with the lactulose! I'm also glad your doc sent you to a psychiatrist before tx, as its probably going to be a lot safer that way. I have had chronic depression issues that are managed by longterm antidepressants, but that had to be changed and the dose upped too, before I could start tx. It worked out pretty well. I'm doing okay. My hand surgery is healing as expected and I start PT in a week. My fatigue and brain fog are back again but not as bad as they once were anyway, so I'm muddling through it okay. I have my fingers crossed for your future good health!
Just a quick note to say hi! Hi Dee, just checking in to see how you're doing. I know you had your doctor's appointment last week, and I saw in your status that he/she prescribed Lactulose for you. Can you share with us any more feedback from the doctor regarding the stage of your Cirrhosis and your labwork?
