Brendi~Your situation is very dire, as the doctor said. Bobby has ascities. It usually starts in the stomach & then the legs. It is also quite painful. The paracenthesis can offer some relief , but there are risks. ASK!!! A heating pad may help. He should be getting full panel blood work weekly. He should also be on Lasix/Generic Furosemide & Aldactone/Spirnolacton which are diretics. HOWEVER, they have to watch your kidney functions VERY carefully!!!! Maybe that it why he hasn't gotten them. If he is starting to vomit, esp. blood,an upper GI bleed is very dangerous. nearest emergency room immediately!!! That is why they look down your throat. It is like an ulcer called varicies. They may perscribe Nexium or Prilosec OTC.
