I have been in a fib several times over the last couple of years. I am also considering an ablation procedure. In my case, I know my "trigger" is alcohol. If I get into regular rhythm and NEVER binge/abuse alcohol, I would not need ablation.
That's easier said than done; too much "fun" at parties, golf outings, etc....
If you know what your triggers are you have to be honest with yourself as to whether or not you can avoid them.
