Just a quick note to say hi! Hello, Can your Dr treat the emphysema? My dad had this condition, which was caused through working in the mines. When I have a trouble breathing it feels as if I am suffocating or drowning. It lasts a few seconds then disappears. If it lasts longer, I have pain and heaviness in my chest, which is very frightening. I can't talk when this happens. My Dr told me to go up the surgery when I have the attack, but it is impossible because I can't move. Oh well, I will plod on for the moment and hope they find out what is causing it. Take care Lana
Just a quick note to say hi! Sorry to hear about the emphysema, does this mean you don't have sarcoidosis? I saw my Dr, but she did not refer me to a specialist! I will try again after Christmas. Being in the UK, I can't pick & choose! I had an ACE blood test recently, which shows if there is sarcoid in the body, but it came back okay. About 18 months ago the blood test was higher. Best Wishes, Lana
Hi, I had red lumps on my shins, called erythema nodosm, fatigue, breathlesssness, sweating, aching joints and a cough. I was in hospital for 5 day's having tests, and that is when they found it. Mine came on quite suddenly. I noticed the red lumps on my shins first, and aching in my legs. I was told by a specialist, that the glands in my chest was inflamed. When I went back for a check-up 6 weeks after I left hospital, the glands in my chest was still inflamed.
From what I have read, it can appear in any organ, skin, etc: I did not have a lung biopsy! I have had chest x-rays, when I have not been feeling well but no sarcoid on my chest since.
