About Me: Female, 54, Warren, AR, member since Oct 2008
I have a long history of medical and psychological problems. I've been diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder back in 1989. Sortly thereafter I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. At that time it wasn't a "popular" diagnosis. I Developed Type II Diabetes when the all over b
[More]ody pain put me flat on my back. I gain weight until I hit approx. 330lbs. All this time I had been in and out of the hospital mainly for depression and suicidal ideation. I could not walk without a cane. I soon had to use a quad cane. My job suffered tremendously. In despiration my husband researched Fibromyalgia on the internet. I also had to have several sleep studies and was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I did have any energy and I still don't. Every task is a major undertaking. What my husband found on the internet was a Mayo Clinic study that treated fibromyalgia with a Parkinson's drug called Meripex . After being on this drug for awhile I began loosing weight. I have lost down to 197ibs as of my last doctor's visit a week ago. I have continual problems with constipation/diarreah. I have the shakes, my short term memory is impaired, I have difficulty balancing. I run into things and fall down a lot. My thought processes are very slow. I can no longer drive because I "zone out" or "fall to sleep" without notice. Kind of a Narcaleptic sort of behavior. I have headaches regularly although I would not consider them migraines. I have had problems with urinary incontenance and have to wear a foli cathiter on a daily basis. I'm sure I have left something out but this should give you a good idea of my basic medical condition at this time.
Isn't sleeping a joke.. It's the worst part of my day... If I'm lucky the headache pain won't get worse during the night but lately my problem is my right arm goes numb at least 3 or 4 times and wakes me due to the pain. I have to admit the anti siezure meds help alot I can't imagine what I would feel like if I didn't have them.. I'm glad the kids are doing ok.. I emailed Steve on this forum but never heard back. I assumed he was ok or we would have heard... Sorry you're peeing on yourself but I guess it's better than being peed on by someone else...lol just kidding
I go the the NS friday to see what she has to say. This time I'm not going to be so emotional and if she gets rude again I'm walking out. Anyway the Chiari has been giving me troubles and when it really acts up I wished somebody would do something to get rid of the pain. Then when I have days like today I think surgery isn't necessary.. I'm glad the holidays are over.Do you get to hear from the kids??? email me back.... love ya and miss you
