About Me: Female, 44, Perth, Australia, member since Nov 2008
I was a fitness instructor for 16 years prior to being diagnosed with DCM. Currently I am an undergraduate, studying teaching (kindergarten through to middle school). My passions are motorcycle racing (now have to be happy as a spectator!), my family (two kids and hubby
[More]), my garden (a little wilted this year, but maybe next year will be better!) and music (more time at home now means trying to rejuvenate forgotten skills). Chocolate sits at the top of that list too list, in good health and poor. I am starting to play more online games (on Facebook) due to being home alone a lot more, but am finding the resulting isolation and limitations to my activities very challenging to overcome. However, I am not quite ready to roll over and give up yet!
I see you saw the tree! :-)
This pool/geyser/whatever you want to call it, didn't smell bad. Some of the geysers there are absolutely awful smelling. They have names like "The Dragon's Mouth" and "Sulpher Pots". You can't bath in the geysers and pools in the park. I do not think you would want to. The warm water can breed some unusual types of bacteria. For the most part, I think the pools are much too hot to touch. Some people bath/swim in the river where the hot springs feed into the icy cold river water. I guess it could be quite comfortable if you find the right spot. It is all very beautiful.
Ha! Good for you. I am impressed that you have the will to take on university studies in addition to the regular cares of life! I am feeling alright now. I have been away on several business trips lately and really lost touch here. I hope you saw the tree I posted (mainly for you). I thought you'd get a kick out of it. Plus, the picture turned out really well with the colors in the minerals. Best wishes to you, future Rock Star!
