I have been called "anorexic" for most of my life - it's not so simple. I have had eating issues since birth. I was a IUGR baby and I was born 9 weeks premature. I stayed in the hospital for a very long time and was a FTT (failure to thrive) baby. I had severe gastroeso
[More]phageal reflux.I had tubes in my nose and throat from birth and I was even "afraid of breastfeeding". As a baby I have had nasogastric and orogastric tubes and eventually I had a gastrostomy tube put in... so I have a long history. I have learned to accept that in medicine you need to give a "diagnosis" so as an infant it was FTT and "feeding problems", aversion, swallowing disorders, doctors blamed my parents for a lot of it. When I was 2 I got the diagnosis of celiac disease and went onto another type of gluten-free diet.... but when I got older I was labeled "anorexic" and that stuck. In December I spent 3 weeks in the hospital with a kidney infection and other problems. Doctors inserted a J-tube and now I am getting my main calories through the tube. I am home and trying to start over AGAIN! I am gaining weight and eating a strict raw food diet... for now I'm a very shy, messed up and confused "woman" trying to find a way to get better and put my pieces back together and have a normal healthy life.
Just a quick note to say hi!Well it's cold it's dark and it's snowing again so I am in at my PC where I am warm and cosy.LOL.I hope you are well.I did some of my decorating in the kitchen but with one thing and another everything conspired to stop me so I will get on with it next week when I can find and hour or two.Soon be half term holday for the kids [the week after next]so that will stop me as they come to me full time in the holidays....it will give me an excuse to do kiddie things like go and feed the ducks and go to the park..Going to get a cuppa and some bickies now so speak to you again soon....xxxx
