About Me: Female, Modesto, CA, member since Jan 2009
I am happily married to a fabulous man. We are both retired educational administrators. I was a junior high school principal for many years. My husband and I love to travel and have been all over the world. I am also a new Kindle owner and love to read. I am also a
[More]n avid photographer and have fun editing my work with Photoshop CS4.
Now about my heart health: I have had AFib for years. I was recently taken off all arrhythmia meds only after having an AVJ ablation with pacemaker implant. (The pacer was actually implanted in June 2007) I was really looking forward to the day I didn't have to take any more meds. I was on Tikosyn, Diltiazen XR and Atenolol and also on coumadin. (Still on coumadin) I was tired all the time. I have been off the meds since March 6, 09. I feel great BUT the AFib is still there. I feel it every day but it is not racing or rocking at breakneck speed due to the pacer. I can take this activity level. It is far more tolerable than the days with the meds and a thrashing heart.
I am back at the gym and loving the freedom from the rampant AFib although I can still feel it softly in the background. I am going to the EP at the end of the month for a post-op checkup and I am very much looking forward to it.
Hi, At last Pacemaker has be moved although not very far and hardly worth the effort. It had woke me up during the hurting so much. It has also bled a little from were they have stitched.the opening. It will now be 4-6 weeks before they can do the AV node ablation. I'm still dreading that one. The final end as far as i'm concerned. I have not read anything good about it. I'll keep in touch.
That is so nice of you to be thinking of me. I will certainly let you know how the procedure went, also how I feel in myself. I am so glad that I found this site, I know there are lots of people younger than I who should not be suffering at such a young age. Thanks again I will keep in touch.
Just a quick note to say hi! I have been thinking about you...have been very busy now that I am back to work. I am doing about the same, taking things one-day-at-a-time...some days are harder than others and the Tikosyn doesn't seem to be working like it used to...I tend to play the "wait and see" game beofre calling my Cardio. LOL Glad to hear your doing so well! :)
