Hi Debbie...Sorry that it's taken me this long to respond to your inquiry. It is hard for me to guarantee that your issue is all related to anxiety. My suggestion to you, before starting an antidepressant, is to start a journal and make daily entries regarding your symptoms. Try that for a few weeks to see how often you are experiencing this. At that time if your charting reveals isolated events you may opt out of starting antidepressant therapy. Keep me posted with your progress:)

Hey there... You can send me messages here if you wish to chat more about morning heart palpitations/racing. Mine were triggered by standing too quickly in the morning. Especially if I didn't wake on time, and hopped into the shower within 30 seconds of awaking. This didn't always happen all the time, but it become more frequent a few months ago. Yawning/Stretching/Turning over while trying to sleep or awakened by restlessness triggered a rapid heart rate. Scared me to death. But it was most certainly caused by anxiety. I'm sure you don't want to hear that this is the cause. Zach
