The long term things I do to control archnoiditis and other back pain are with prescription pain meds, celebrex, cymbalta, muscle relaxers, and a spinal cord stimulator that is implanted. I find that is I focus on others and not myself it helps. My faith in God and a great family and lots of close friends - these continue to give me joy and peace. But it's not easy with the pain is it?
Hi- I didn't have surgery, but we addressed it with blood patches because it was leaking spinal fluid from that spot. They spread the blood around the meniniocele. We tried this four times but none worked! They also did a fibrin glue patch but that didn't work either. After each procedure, I would go straight to the motel and stay laying down for three day before going home (6 hours). We would wait about two weeks between procedures. The next step was to do a blood patch then purposely puncture a small hole and insert a drain into the spinal cord. I then had to lay flat in be for seven days, with the nurses darining off fluid every hour to minimize the pressure.
