being treated for late stage lyme disease since dec 2008. Done with treatment fall 2009. Stable but still feel the lymes damage. Hope and still searching for a medical break through. But I am glad I did antibiotics. (updated 4-11)
2/13 still am able to work full time :) some days are harder then others. I struggle with nerve damage as dr informs me....still can't find a dr to confirm by tests. Just got done with ent appt for hearing left ear and dizziness. Passed with flying colors...however ent thinks could be damaged nerves. Referred me to see neurologist. Last seen in 2009 for MRI no findings, at that point was referred to ENT. Just now got around to that one. As before diagnosis with lyme all major diseases were ruled out in 2008-2009. So trying teasel tincture(for Lyme) dandelion root/milk thistle tincture (for liver/kidney detox) and St. John's wart tincture occasionally muscle soreness. Will try to journal more after my trial. Have to say ginseng/gingko with b vit especially vit b5 helps me with brain fog and lack of energy. Found a tablet form of all in one at same whole food store I buy my tinctures from:)
Just a quick note to say hi! In 2010 I.m going to try hard to get some of my health back. It felt as if Lyme just robbed me of it as well as other things it took. I got to find the JOY for life. Stay warm.
Just a quick note to say hi! I think I'm going to try the epsom salt foot bath, it makes sense. I don't know where you live but I live in Iowa and it's cold. My neuropathy in my legs seems really debilatating in the winter so I'm wearing the knee=high leggings which really help with the cold. I'm on a drug holiday after 16 months total 11 of IV and 5 of orals. I beleive the damage I have is here to stay but the antibiotics helped me kill the active Lyme in me.
Thanks for sending a note. I'm disabled now and a shut in so it's good to hear from others suffering from Lyme.
Hey, thanks for the note. Actually I'm not feeling great at all. I've started my meds and have been feeling worse for the past few days. I'm thinking its a herx. Today was a bit better, but everything hurts. How are you? Hope you are doing well.
Jena, thanks for your post. I am sorry you're having such a bad time on the meds. Have you talked to you dr about changing them or at least the dose? I've just had to stop my third round of meds (with dr's okay) because of side effects and know what you mean about misery. I am also off all my supplements, and I don't think that's a good thing ... I was feeling particularly rotten this morning and so did a foot bath of Epsom salts (which is magnesium) and it really helped. Sounds strange, I know, but I had to stop taking oral magnesium supplements because my stomach was in an uproar generally, and the Lyme bugs love magnesium, so they use it up out of your body. I get a half gallon carton of Epsom salts at Safeway for a few bucks and put some in a foot bath: really helps! Take care.
