About Me: Male, 48, Puyallup, WA, member since Feb 2009
A long time chronic pain patient. Almost killed in bad MVA on Hwy 512. Hit by a SEMI. 3 Spine surgeries and two shoulder surgeries later my MD put me on Methadone. I had no idea I would be physically dependent on it. I would advise ANYONE who is considering taking this
[More] to re-think it and consider other options. I'm very happy to have found MH and the many great people that belong to it. I'm now using the Fentanyl Patch 100mcg and I'm optimistic it will help me be able to function again and get me back to work.
It did get me back to work!! Been back since March of 2009 and the Fentanyl helps me live to fight another day I guess!! Has given me a piece of my life back that I thought was gone for ever. I have come to know that ALL opiates have side effects and if used long enough dependency will be an issue. That being said, Fentanyl or Methadone won't work for everybody. My motto on narcotics is now "If it works for you and reduces your pain and improves your quality of life, then why stop it"?
