About Me: Female, 65, Palos Hills, IL, member since Mar 2009
This profile is for my mom, Christine who is 58 and was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage 3 C in Feb 09. Overall health before this was high blood pressure and cholesterol, fatty liver disease and acid reflux. Smoked for 40 years, had her last one on the way to surge
We have had a lot or problems since her partial surgery at Rush Hospital (Dr Rotmesch). Only had a partial (left tube and ovary) because the cancer attached itself to the rectum/colon so he wanted to start treatment and go back after some treatments to do the debulking.
Mom had a bowel obstruction and was back in the hospital a few days after coming home from surgery. Started chemo the 26th of March and has been really sick. Back in the ER (this time at Christ Hospital) as of yesterday, April 4th. Completely dehydrated from all the vomiting and diahrea. They finally got her hydration/nutrients under control after a week. She had to have a tube put into her stomach to drain her stomach fluids and is being fed through her port. She came home Easter Sunday and although each day she gets stronger, she still cannot be awake for too long a period of time, she is very tired. Next chemo is tomorrow the 17th, praying it goes well
You're in my thoughts all the time, but especially today. Hi! Mom is doing ok, getting results from a recent CT scan Jan 4. She finished chemo in late august, and it took a while to get strength back, but she is doing pretty good with the exception of having bronchitis twice. but other than that, not too bad. How is your mom? hope everyone is doing ok...
Hi sweetie. I noticed your mood and just wanted you to know that I think of you and Mom often. I hope your Mom does well with chemo next Wed. If there is a window facing the city from her chemo room on Wed and you happen to be there still in the evening at that time, you might be able to see the lights. Say hi to Christine for me. Luv, Angie
