About Me: Female, Nashville, TN, member since Mar 2009
Diagnosed Feb. 2009 with stage 1c Ovarian Cancer Clear Cell.
[More]ed with two grown children. Love the outdoors.
Complex tumor on the left ovary. Surgical complications included post-op ileus that lasted 7 days, pleural effusion that had to be drained, and lots of lower body swelling that had to be controlled with lasix.
No residual side effects from treatment -- strength and hair returned gradually. During treatment I had fatigue for about 48 hours starting midway into the 2nd day after chemo, hair loss, and about 48 hrs. of bone pain from the Neulasta injections begun with second cycle due to low wbc that delayed treatment by a week after the first cycle.
CA-125 was originally 229, but went up to 431 post surgery. Six cycles carbo/taxol.
Post-1st cycle chemo 435
CT scan was clear in follow up August 3rd 2009.
I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the meeting today. I had Caleb here, plus Tom had an appointment at Vandy at noon. Was this meant to be? LOL Thank you for continuing bringing it up to me. I will make it one of these days. How was it? Did you learn anything new?
I just found out we may be taking my car to the shop in Franklin. One of my windows won't roll back up. This is the SECOND time this has happened with that car! I will call as soon as I know my timing.
I've had a blockage this weekend. It finally subsided about 3pm today. I guess my non-active cancer doesn't care and acts up anyway. It's really getting old. I have an appt. with a social worker with Tom concerning his transplant plans. I might have Caleb with me if that's ok. I'll get my appt. times and let you know.
