[More] a very active roll in my own health. I am 285# but am very active, I bicycle and swim which are both non load bearing activities that allow me to get a cardiovascular workout with out wearing out my knees. I consider myself to be in great health for my age except for my weight. I have a deep satisfying relationship with God and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 37 years. Taking a cue from the saying, "If I had known I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of myself" I am very determined to take an aggressive role to meet the health challenges head on as I age. I consider the internet to be a unique tool that has never been available before to the non health professional to aid in the research of ones health. The average health professional cannot spend the time that I am willing to commit to research my own health issues. This is an exciting time to be growing old and I kid my family about reaching the age of 120. I am not sure this is an unrealistic goal for my generation. One of the reasons for my optimism is how I have already been successful in contributing to my own health issues by working closely with my doctor and other medical persons. I will list each health problem and the solutions we come up with here. I hope this will be helpful to other and to get feedback to aid in taking each issue to successes. I also want to note that I feel my relationship with God through Jesus Christ and my dedication to serving Him was integral to Him leading me in my search for cures and treatments. By combining prayer and my own effort and working with my health professionals and now this site, I think I am bringing the most to the battle for ongoing health. Don't waste your time communicating with me if you are not a serious poster. None of us have the time to tolerate impolite or silly time wasting. I will post my info in the journal section.
