About Me: Female, 33, Brunswick, ME, member since Apr 2009
I am a 29 year old single mother of an autistic 3 year old princess. We live near family who helps us regulary due to my own health constraints. I have grown up with various health problems and believe we are our own best advocate. So being prepared and knowledgable is
[More] important. I got my BSN in 05 and took the NCLEX RN in 06. Later that year I became ill and am still working on a diagnosis. Nursing is my dream job and hope to someday get my health in line and go back!
Just checking in. The MP is definitely kicking my butt. My "Vit D" is basically undetectable, so I guess that's why I've probably had an increase in symptoms even pre-MP. Basically every thing they predict will happen on the MP is happening to me. I took my first Minocycline today, and it made me more dizzy, muscle cramps/pain increased, headache doubled, and I basically passed out for six hours from just being completely exhausted. It just basically takes the symptoms you already have, and turns up the gain. Now I just have to see my lung doc next week so he can try to explain away my increase in IP : ) "it's just an allergy" : ) Even though I've never been allergic to anything in my entire life.
Hi Rubie, I quit smoking since last Saturday. I'm kinda looking for a pat on the back : ) Lungs are finally just getting tight enough I'm pretty much forced to, it's not even a matter of wanting to. I might even ask about getting a little oxygen for at home, and I doubt they'd give me any if I'm still smoking. Anyways, all my doctors, and nurses should be pretty happy I quit even if I'm not. What day's your Rheum app, ?
Thanks Rubie, I think when I'll really now if the MP will work is when I start Minocycline. But I'm not going to start Mino until I know what my 25D level is. I want it at 20 ng/ml or less to start, and a target of less than 12 ng/ml as time goes on. My appt yesterday was the last one in the afternoon, and by the time all the old people got done yacking about the 1930's, and I got in all the labs were closed, and I couldn't get the D panel drawn because it has to be frozen on dry ice right away. Then they were going to set it up today at the hospital, and big surprise they never got back to me. Guess I'll have to go in there, and explain it all over again to them, I don't know why it's always the patients problem to chase after clinics to get stuff done. ttyl
Hi Rubie, my GP is totally on board to do the Marshall Protocol. I'm excited to get started on the treatment. You can follow my progress in my mood line or drop me a PM anytime, I'll keep it updated as I go along. I only want to be an example to help someone else suffering with a chronic illness, and I'll always try to help you out any way I can. TTYL
