I didn't realize website links may not show up in notes. I am sending you a message with a few links. The attempt is to give some information about what do they mean when they say "temporal horn".
Hi. The temporal horn is a horn shaped space in the brain, filled with fluid. It can be explained with the example of a coconut. Imagine the hard shell to be the skull bone, the white part of the coconut to be the "white matter" of the brain, and inside it, the space filled with fluid. Now if the white matter shrinks in thickness, the space has to grow, cause the hard shell can't shrink with it. Hence the temporal horn is prominent.... as the MRI report suggests white matter 'shrinking'. See this diagram .... .
Also, if the fluid increases in quantity but the hard shell is not allowed to grow with it? The same thing..... Please visit this page ...
