i don't know if i responded to reassurance note. i'm in 3rd year of medical school and the classes i've had on hiv have agreed with what teak and lizzie say. hiv is so fragile that outside the body it dies. the sad thing is that there are a lot of stories out there that aren't true. the only way to hiv is from unprotected vaginal/anal sex and sharing needles and that means someone shoots up intravenously and then hands the needle to the next person and they shoot up intravenously. i understand your anxiety and worry but trust me i'm a doctor, well not quite yet :-)
no way to get it from a scratch hiv is extremely fragile and cant live outside the body. so there is no way you could have gotten it.
you can't get hiv from a cut on your hand and being a pool. you gotta let it go. i know its hard to do but trust me you have zero risk of getting hiv that way
