About Me: Female, 43, Crystal, MN, member since Jun 2009
I am married and the mother of two children, a daughter 18 and a son 15. Prior to April 2009 I was working full time, going to the gym, and enjoying life. Now on most days I can barely leave my house. I was diagnosed with functional gallbladder disease in May and had my
[More] gallbladder removed. For the first few days I felt good and was sure my problem had been solved. But then one day it all came back just like my gallbladder was still there. My labs were all normal so my doctor says nothing is wrong and I will just have to learn to live with these symptoms. After several trips to my doctor, the ER, and even being hospitalized I was referred to a Gastroenterologist. The first one did a few tests and couldn't find anything. He thought I might be a good candidate for sphincter of oddi dysfunction and referred me to a specialist in that field. After a few week I got in for an ERCP were it was confirmed that I did indeed have SOD. I had a sphincterotomy and for a few days I felt ok and then it all started again. My doctor chose not to do anything with my pancreatic duct so now I have to have it done over again. I can't get in till the end of August now so here I sit suffering. I can't go to work and my boss is calling to find out what's the deal. I don't know what to tell her but I can't work like this. It's been over two months. It's been a long hard road and some days it's very hard to stay positive but I am trying. I just want my life back. I'm tired of being sick all the time
