Hi Melinda! I'm Stephanie. After almost 2 years scouring the Internet and going to every doctor imaginable with still no diagnosis, I happened upon your post to Dr Brown in 2009 about your scattered scotomata! Your symptoms are EXACTLY mine. I know it has been 2 years since that post--but could you please let me know what you have found out since then? Has there been any progress in your vision? Anything you are doing to prevent further episodes?
I can't tell you how relieving it is to read of someone who has similar symptoms. I have baffled all doctors at this point. Any input you have will be greatly appreciated. Hope all is well!
Hi there. Just wanted to touch base with you and ask how you cope with these visual problems - emotionally. Mine are really getting me down because I see them all the time - just to the right of my central vision. Can you email me? ***@****
I actually just saw you has asked me this back in may, but I never got around to answering (different thread). The list of symptoms is quite long, but the "top" two are extreme photosensitivity, and a degenerating light perception (i keep needing more lights to see, and they get dimmer). I also have a lot of floaters and pretty poor night vision. Besides this, the very common glare problem, halos, startbursts. It has not affected my visual aquity, so I can read fine print just fine. I have no official dignosis, but I was tested positive for antibodies against the retina, thus most likely Autoimmune Retinopathy (which fits the picture).. Thomas
Im extremely sorry. This is the first time I have joined Medhelp. I didnt know that there was a limit to the number of posts you could inlcude in the forum. I assumed it to be like other forums where you keep on posting the same message to maintain its visibilty.
Wont happen again.
