You deserve a big bear hug!
Hi, My DS (now 10 1/2, dx at 4 1/2) didn't really qualify as an Aspie, either, due to the specific interest thing too. It actually didn't start showing up until he got older and had a little more freedom to select his activities, books, etc. It didn't dawn on me until just a few weeks ago at the library when I suggested a book to him and he said, "But mom, I just want to think about birds right now! If I read that, I can't think about birds and my brain will get all confused!" He's still not totally Aspie-obsessive about it, but if he had to pick a topic, that would be the go-to one for right now. I think birds has been his thing for about a year now. :)
I also have a brother and nephew diagnosed with Aspergers. Add in my dad with his neuro issues and we're one big quirky neuro salad! LOL
Thank you for everything! You were extremely helpful to me. I even made a tremory attempt at selecting u as a best answer, but I picked another one erroneously (luckily, everyone seems to give pretty good answers round here, Sooo.).
Thanks!! A. :-) :-)

I started the book on nuroplasticity.....LOVING it so far. Thank you again for the suggestion, I have high hopes that the book will give me some great tips.
