I don't know why I was drawn to your situation, but I was. I've also had bad things happen to me, thought about things differently, but never got help. Just motored through all the pain by being an A type personality. It has it's ups and downs, that's for sure, but I'm a survivor and you are not alone. I have a "different" way of looking at life because of what's happened to me, as I'm sure you do too. Somewhere out there you have a purpose, if not only to get the heck out of dodge and take your sister with you. Not advocating running away, but sometimes the system may let you down too. Life is not easy, and maybe that's why there are life preservers out there to hang onto some times. It's a good thing that you've reached out for one here. TTFN...
Just a quick note to say hi! How are you feeling, Bonnie? I hope you're feeling better than you did the last time I heard from you.
I was afraid to say Mono, because I don't know enough about the symptoms. But, I know you're right about the swelling. Mono takes a lot out of you, if this is Mono. I knew a classmate that had that our senior year. If you find out that this is Mono, you might want to check out the Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) forum. Many times people with CFS had a bout or two of Mono when they first started having symptoms of CFS. You might find some useful information. I better quit now, I saw the lights flicker, so I might lose power before the end of the night.
Hope you feel better soon! Gosh, I honestly don't know. I never had anything beyond the usual Strep throat. I would've thought Strep, too, when seeing something white in the back of the throat. But, the throat cultures came back negative. I'm stumped, because most people would've thought the same thing you thought. Did the doctor even mention Tonsilitis? I thought most kids got that at a much younger age, but I guess something like that can happen at any age. I never had it, so I don't know what the symptoms are. I wish I knew something more to tell you, but I'm stumped, too. I hope your doctor can figure out what this is, if for anything, your peace of mind.
