ADD medicide help

I was diagnosed with ADD after taking the test (I don't know how accurate it is.)  Even my mom is "certain" I have ADD.  I've always day dreamed during school and had a hard time focusing on movies or books when I'm reading.  I don't know if that's normal.

Anyway, my psychiatrist has put me on a bunch of defferent medications for ADD: strattera,  Aderall XR, and Vyvanse, but none of them seem to work.  I've asked other people who have taken Adderall what happens to them and they say things like "you can focus on anything so well."  When I take it nothing happens.  I don't feel any different, it just makes me feel a little less drowsy.  I'm supposed to take 50MG every morning, but sometimes I would take 100MG or 150MG just to see if it would work and still nothing happens!!

I'm also taking 150MG Venlafaxine ER daily.

Medication seems to be my theme today... But I digress

I just went on regular Adderall, 20 mg a day, once in the morning and once at noon.  It was a night and day difference for me!  I was worried since I have anxiety disorder that it would cause me to panic, only to find I am very awake, but calm too.  Keep talking to your doctor, not all meds work the same for all people!  It is going to take a while to figure out what works for you.  Don't give up!  I went 24 years misdiagnosed and now I have hope when I only had despair (No kidding!).  And remember, you always have support here!

Blessed are the cracked, for they let in the light!

Hello,
I don't know how old you are, but my son was the same way when it came to school, reading a book, anything that required focused attention for long periods of time. This is very normal for many boys. Just because you cannot focus on a book or movie, or your schoolwork,  does not in any way mean that you have ADHD, it just means that maybe those things do not get your attention like maybe doing something hands on. My son and alot of boys are hands on learners. My son at 14 could fix just about anything electronic, he has been working on cars since he was 12 and is amazingly talented.
If these meds are not working for you, why are they still having you take them. Adderall is not a safe drug and I hope that you stop taking it as soon as possible. I know all this from many years of being told that my son has ADHD because the schools automatically say that any kid that cannot sit still all day long and learn in the same way as everyone else in the class, they are labeled ADHD and put into special ed.
I hope that this information helps, if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask.
Take Care!!
