Aderrall and Wellbutrin XL together

It didn't take long for my doc to confirm my ADD-PI and he prescribed Aderral (adderall) 10 mg to take once a day along with Wellbutrin XL 150.  He said I might need a higher dose or switch to the XR later.

Has anyone tried both at the same time?  I got the generic version of Aderral (adderall) and surprised how cheap it was. Should this be taken every day or only when I have lots to do and need to concentrate?

Hi 425runner, I also suffer from ADD plus severe depression. My doc gave me Ritalin for ADD  and Effexor for depression but this last one gave me too many side effects and I stopped taking it. Now he switched me to Wellbutrin (150 mg once a day) and 30 mg Ritalin. I have felt sick but am not sure if it is the withdrawal effects from stopping Effexor or the mixture of Wellbutrin and Ritalin. I feel brain spasms, especially in the back of my head. Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms. On the other hand, my doc told me to take the Ritalin constantly. I tried to take it only when I needed to concentrate at work and not on days I don´t have to work. He told me it is not good to interrupt intake like that.
I am very interested in knowing your experience with Adderal and Wellbutrin. Did your doctor check your clinical history to be sure that there is no high risk of seizures? Both medications lower your threshold for seizures and I read in the Wellbutrin info page that 300 mg or more plus any stimulant of the Central Nervous System (Ritalin, Adderal) increase significantly the risk of having seizures. Be sure to check that with your doctor, especially if he/she is thinking of increasing your Wellbutrin dosage. Good luck and please share your experience with the mixture.

Yes, my doc spent over 1hr going over my medical history, doing blood work, EKG, and giving a physical.  I only take 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL and don't plan on taking more.

I also take Klonopin 1mg for anxiety and sleep, it helps to take the edge off the jitters that Adderall (adderrall) causes.  I'm gonna ask him for something more "gentle" maybe Dexedrine XR

Yesterday, I skipped the Adderall (adderrall) and had a totally worthless day (was Sunday anyway) but also felt more depressed then usual.
