Help

I currently live with my Mom her boyfriend and his two grand kids. The oldest one is 7 and was diagnosed with ADHD. He goes to a pychiatrist and takes aderall daily. He is very destructive and has sexual urges he can not control. I t was so bad to the point he was going to be expeled from school with the fear he may molest other children. His grandpa does not dicipline him at all. Well things have gotten much worse. He has started playing with his feces the smeared it all on the toilet seat bowl and floor. when he asked why he did it he replied he wasnt using his brain. We made him clean it up, but that was it. Everyone blames his actions on the ADHD. Such as lying, stealing. But never any disapline. My queation is playing with feces an effect of ADHD or should he be tested for something else. ADD and ADHD is simply the lack of ability to focus on particular things at the time needed.  These children have focus, but not necessarily on what needs to be accomplished.  I have a son with ADD and a son with ADHD.  One child often does strange things and can be destructive at times.

Please don't let anyone make excuses for him.  He is always responsible for his behavior.  His medication may help him, but he is still responsible.

The sexual behavior and playing with his feces is a real problem.  Children don't usually act out to this degree unless they have been abused or are being abused themselves.

Seeing a therapist could be a big help.  It sounds like there are real emotional issues as well.

children with ADHD do have problems controlling their actions and thinking before acting, but i agree that he may have been abused.

but either way *** doesnt seem that the medicine is working, maybe you should try getting something else prescribed. i take ridalin and it helps me, but that my be just me. still, its worth a shot to try something else.
