Itchy Scalp no dandruff Underactive Thyroid

I have a very dry itchy scalp with burning sensation this is just around the crown area and on topy of the scalp.  I have tried shampoos with selenium in but they are not working I have an underactive thyroid and wonder if this is connected.  Interested to find something that will help.

i have this same thing, except the underactive thyroid. I have an itchy spot on the forehead/hairline that has been here for years. the burning and itchy is sometimes accompanied by flaking and sometimes not. i personally think the flaking is a symptom of the itching not the other way around. i have tried dandruff shampoo, fungal creams, and even recently ringworm powder. but nothing helps. it even seems that my hair is thinning in the area i scratch, and i dont know what to do.
if their is a correlation between thyroid and dry scalp i would like to know.
