More Natural "herbs" or such for ADHD

Is there a more natural type of vitamin or something for ADHD instead of the medication a doctor would prescribe?

First, there is a lot that a parent and teacher can do to help a child with ADHD besides the meds.  In fact, all studies show that the meds are not a magic pill that will make everything ok.  However, the meds will buy time for the child to learn coping skills.  For things that you can do besides meds, check out "The ADD/ ADHD Answer book," by Susan Ashley.   You will get a ton of ideas and more importantly ways that the school can help your child.
But to answer your question.  If there were a more natural way of helping your child, this site would have been full of the particular method.  It ain't there.  However,  you can certainly eliminate dyes from his diet.  Make sure he gets a good nights sleep.  Omega -3's can help by this recent study - http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/749348?src=nl_topic
But once you have bought the book and tried all of Ashley's good ideas (and it does take a lot of energy to do so). Made sure he was getting a good nights sleep.  Added Omega3's.  If he is still dying in school, etc.  it is time to try meds.  They can easily be stopped if not effective.  Just remember that if they do work, they are only part of the answer.
