yes, I agree with Dollyn, if they will NOT listen, then go to another doctor. You need to feel comfortable with your child's caregivers. You should not feel scared or like they will go over your head and if you have a "bad" feeling about something, then you should not go w/it.
If the Doctors wont do there job you tell them you want these things checked and don't take no,and if they still won't do there job and check for everything then you go to the highest doctor there and tell them what is going on,and if that don't work then you find a new doctor and tell the other that you wont be needing them any more,
These kids need an adult to stand up for them and to fight the fight for them. You need to stand and stay strong. It is there life we are takling about. And they need to make sure they are being treated for the right things. And not giving drugs that could make things worse that have very bad side effects that could damage there life for every.I would hate to have another child and family to go threw what my son and family have had to go threw and what other familys have had to go threw also.
These Doctors seem to had these drugs out as if it is candy, and I think if it where there children they wouldn't give them the things they give out to other people kids. And they would make sure there children would be checked for everything.Or us other ways to treat them.
stay strong for the childrens .
Thank u all for yr suggestions and I will certianly get him to the Dr.
To: allmymarbles, yes but they are not all with the same diagnosis. My nephew was ADHD, his sister, and Im sure bothmy children where if you go according to symptoms but I never had them checked for it. My son was the worse and still is. He also has ODC along with my nephew that is awful to watch them. They both didnt finish school b/c they coudlnt be still or focus. I belive i may have had ADD when I was a kid b/c I couldnt focus either and just really couldnt catch on to what was going on. It was very hard for me to learn something and rememeber it and It still is! Even my sis. We neither one finished school. To this day I have common sense, but to learn and rememeber something is very difficult for me. And yes they have the same peditician but he didnt put my 2 gransons on the meds. it was another dr. You know when my kids where growing up and my son was like he was I said " Hes just being a boy. and I look at him now and it breaks my heart b/c he suffers so much. Hes smart as a whip!! But he cant be still, he doesnt sleep well, he has problems getting along with people and the ODC is out of control. The constant rituals! I dont want to medicate my grandson and I dont like it that my other 2 are, but what do you do when drs. wont do their job and dig to find out what is causing these problems! Im not a Dr. but sometimes i feel I know more than they do. Their first problem is they wont listen. I think we know our children as well and better than we know ourselves. Sorry for the rambling, I just want to do the right thing ya know?
Your grandsons should have there blood levels checked .They should aslo have an EEG done so they would have to go see a Noroligest ,the eyes rolling up may be Seizures.
And Seizures can look like ADD and ADHD and even Bilolar. And if there blood levels are not where they should be they can cause things also. So I would make sure they check there thyroid and sugar levels. And they can also check there white and red blood cell levels.
Try giving Childrens Multivitamin and Vitamin B6 and Omega 3-6-9 and Vitamin B12.They have helped my son with his School work.
check his liver if he's had yellow skin and puffiness.
It arouses my interest that so many in your family have the same diagnosis. Do they all have the same doctor? If it were my son, I would have him undergo a thorough physical examination to eliminate a physical problem before heading off to a psychologist or psychiatrist. There are too many false diagnoses of ADD out there and too many children on drugs that have nasty side effects.
Okay, I hope it all works out and you find out if something is wrong. Good luck
My suggestion would be to take these symptoms all at once to a physician and see what tests they feel are necessary. They are probably best equipped to guide you through medical issues.
Does he go to a doctor? I'd bring your list of symptoms to a doctor.
